Rising Stars

The Rising Stars Advisory Committee, comprised of our membership and program committees and our academic partners, provides guidance to the Rising Stars program. This committee guides NHPHA in offering activities and resources for undergraduate and graduate public health students. The committee meets quarterly.

Students can greatly benefit from the Rising Stars program. NHPHA offers opportunities for networking, communication about internships, a mentoring program, scholarships to NHPHA events, an internship stipend program, and information about job opportunities. Through a variety of events and programs, we connect students and young professionals in the public health field with the next step in their career.

Some of the events that we offer throughout the year include:

  • Rising Stars Pre-Session, Student Poster Session, and Annual Meeting: April
  • Student intern stipend program: July through June for qualifying students
  • Student Mentoring Program: September through May
  • Public health career information
  • Networking events
